When consumers think of streaming video, Netflix is usually top of mind but that may be changing. Here’s why: |
Margin of viewers is not far apart. When taking into account all of Disney’s streaming platforms (Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN) 53% of streamers in the last 30 days used one of Disney’s three services while 57% of the same group streamed Netflix – only a 4% gap.
When it comes to consumer sentiment, Disney’s namesake service, Disney+, leads the pack, albeit slightly, in Net Promoter Score (NPS) 24.5% vs. Netflix at 24.2% and Hulu at 15.5%. |

Millenials make a difference and Gen Z just don’t care:
- Boomers and Gen X provide the highest NPS for both Disney+ and Netflixnbut there isn’t much separation in the scores.
- Millenials have the greatest separation between Disney+ and Netflix with NPS scores of 24.1% and 21.3% respectively.
Gen Z, on the other hand, had much lower NPS scores: 2.5% for Disney+, 1.1% for Netflix, and -14.9% for Hulu.
